First Aid For Dogs and Cats

Unexpected injuries occur all the time and without the proper treatment, a loved one in your family could become very ill or even die if not treated properly and in good response time.  A first aid kit at home and in your car could mean the difference of good treatment or no treatment.  Of course, if you don't know how to treat an emergency or injury, it won't matter one way or the other.

That's why owners should educate themselves on what to do in case something like this happens.

O.K.  Now we have found the ultimate book in First Aid for your dogs and cats.
The title is "The First Aid Companion for Dogs and Cats" by Amy D. Shojai.

We purchased this book a while back and it is one of the best resources for the home.  This covers everything from basic first aid to CPR.  In the event of an emergency or accident, this is a must have for any dog or cat owner.  It can be purchased through Amazon >>> HERE or do a search for the title online.
For less than $20, you could help treat your dog or cat and possibly save their life.  Pretty inexpensive price to pay for a loving animal...wouldn't you say?

Thought for the Day>>>

"No man can be condemned for owning a dog. As long as he has a dog, he has a friend; and the poorer he gets, the better friend he has."

Just One Colorado Bloodhound

Within about the next 4- 5 weeks, Honey (Pictured left) is about to have puppies. She has a fantastic background with names like Bitterroot, Jesse James, Legacies, Brighton, Coshelav. Her sire was Bitterroots Big Bear Grizz. Her Dam, Pollyana was from Haxtons, Blue Bottom and others.

Honey and Rocco, (which has a great line of 47 confirmation champions in a 5 generation pedigree) will become parents in about 4-5 weeks.

Rocco has a fantastic line behind him with names like Ramsey Creek, Legacy, Rectory's (import) Brighton, Mountaineers from his fathers side, and his mother with names from Shericks, Kamilots (import) and Nimrod (import).

They will produce some fantastic pups with great history and pedigree behind them.

We are welcoming her little ones and can't wait to play!

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

Harley Had a Bath

One never realizes how big one is until you have to put one in the bathtub!
Just finished giving Harley a bath.
If you all recall, Harley was just a small pup 7 months ago, easy to handle, pick up and put into the tub. When summer was here it was easy to give him a bath outside, just hook up the hose and go.
It's been about a month since his last bath and he has really gained weight! (Either that or I'm becoming a woos!)

Gave him a bath, tried to dry him off, and I got to say..."Ain't nothin funnier than a Bloodhound shakin himself off...skins a flappin... and the slobbers a slingin!

After the bath it was time to give him a blow dry with a hand held hair dryer. Brushed him out, sprayed him down, and he still has slobber slingin!

While I am writing this, he thought he would learn how to type...Deb took a pic of him watching me at my desk.>>>>

He ain't lil no more mom!

Meanwhile, here in Colorado it has been bitter cold...-28 the other night. All the hounds were glad to come in and stay the night. We put them in anyway at night only this night they came in before dark.

Stay up with us as we will have more news soon... cause Harley is goin to the show again!
